Jenna Kaye-Kauderer: ubu film

I found the film Le Retour a la raison by Man Ray really interesting. I like the way he explores the movement of simple geometries.

7-Brice: Stop Motion Example
| Posted by brownhybridart at 2:23 PM |
Here's a clip from Jason and the Argonauts. I remember watching this movie as a kid and really falling in love with this battle scene. Sure, the effects are laughable today, but the stop motion technique was cutting edge back then.

Here's a cool video that some of you have probably seen. Its a little bit more crudely done than some of the stuff we've looked at in class, but I just like the aesthetic I guess. Also, it becomes a little bit more creepy if you listen closely to the lyrics.

Sorry I've had mononucleosis for the past few weeks, here is an interesting animation I've found as well as 2 I've previously completed.

Her Morning Elegance by Oren Lavie. It's become one of my favorite things, great song and beautiful execution. Very simple way to make an animation minus finding a way to attach the camera above the bed and black boxing the room :)
hope you like it...

6-Brice Peterson: Kate Bush, "Pi"
Monday, March 2, 2009 | Posted by brownhybridart at 5:55 PM |
Kate Bush sings of a man who is infatuated with numbers, specifically the calculation of Pi. She then proceeds to sing the numbers in Pi. Absolutely crazy.
Oh, hybrid I guess because it combines music and math, but that's pretty obvious, isn't it?
texture

I am very interested in surface quality and engaging the sense of touch though art. When ever i view a piece the texture is what I gravitate towards. these were some interesting surface qualities made using cheap/recycled paper. -alexia
